The Book
Sometimes the past comes back to haunt you.
Louise Leighton’s life has fallen apart, all because of one fateful night. Her husband is an adulterer, her sister is his mistress, and soon, Louise will lose everything she owns. But she never imagined she would lose her daughter.
Eighteen-year-old Brooke Leighton is missing. It’s up to Louise and the Metropolitan Police to find her. Has Brooke run away? Or has she been taken against her will? And can Louise aid the investigation without mentioning the night where all of her troubles began?
If she mentions that night, she will incriminate her daughter for heinous crimes. But if she doesn’t, she may never find Brooke; and if she has been abducted, the person who took her may come for Louise, too.
Sometimes the past comes back to kill you.
My thoughts

Anything for her is Jack Jordan debut novel  with one amazing cover. I was very excited to read this after reading rave reviews.

Louise Leighton finds out her husband is having an affair with her sister her life is falling apart then Brooke her daughter goes missing. But Louise and Brooke have a secret?! With a police investigation taking place for the hunt for Brooke this secret is sure to be revealed.

Taking into account this is the author's debut novel and bear in mind I am doing a proof-reading/editing course I struggled with the first 30% of this book for me it was very hard going because of the use of repetitive words which frustrated me. I was actually rewriting sentences and paragraphs in my head. I honestly think that the story would’ve been better wrote differently.

I didn't take to Louise she irritated the hell out of me. I just wanted to shake her silly!

Nevertheless I persevered with it and the story stepped up a gear and I was hooked and found the story gripping and intriguing keeping me guessing until the end. And what an ending I so wasn't expecting that.

Over all this is a good debut novel sadly it just didn't tick all the boxes for me.  But am I am sure lots of you crime fans out there will enjoy it.

This is a 3.5 star for me.Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
