#LadLitBlogTour The Flood by Steven Scaffardi

Here we are on day 25 of the Lad Lit Blog Tour and I am delighted to welcome Ollie Pemberton to Chelle's Book Reviews. Ollie is one of the stars of the Sex, Love and Dating Disaster series of books by lad lit author Steven Scaffardi.

Ollie, welcome to Chelle's Book Reviews. Let’s start at the beginning in The Drought. Your good friend, Dan Hilles, find himself in a bit of a predicament. What can you tell us about it?
Thanks Shell… That’s a great name by the way. I love that your parents named you after a thing you find at the beach.

What do you mean?
You know, shell. Like a crab shell.

No Ollie, it’s short for Michelle.
Crab shell is short for Michelle?

No, Shell is short for Michelle.
I’m confused.

The name Shell is… Don’t worry. Just tell me about Dan and his drought.
Oh okay. So Dan is a great guy, but pretty useless when it comes to women. In The Drought, after breaking up with his long-term girlfriend, Stacey, he becomes some sort of female repellent. I call him sexual Kryptonite! Anyway, The Drought is all about Dan’s journey to try and finally get his leg over, and it’s bloody funny as he gets himself into all sorts of ridiculous situations. Luckily he has his mates there to help him, like me.

Oh really? So you have quite a good knowledge of Kama Sutra then do you Ollie?
I sure do Crab Shell…

It’s just Shell.
Sorry, I mean I sure do Just Shell…

Sigh.
She was a foreign exchange student we went to school with.

Sorry, you have lost me. Who was a foreign exchange student? I asked you about your knowledge of the Kama Sutra.
Yeah, that was the name of the Turkish girl who came to our school as part of a foreign exchange scheme.

I think you’re getting confused. The Kama Sutra is an ancient Indian Hindu text widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behaviour.
Oh. So you don’t want to know about the Turkish exchange student then?

No! I want to know how you helped Dan conquer his drought.
That makes more sense. I thought it was a bit strange that you wanted to know about her! I helped Dan improve his physique. I took him to the gym to help him become more physically attractive to the opposite sex.

Can you share any of those tips?
Sure. When you’re at the gym, never compliment a bloke on his sixpack unless you are talking about his choice of beer.

Er, okay. Let’s move on. In second book, The Flood, Dan has a slightly different problem. This time he finds himself having to juggle four women all at the same time. How did that happen?
We were all in the pub one afternoon, taking the mickey out of Dan and his lack of expertise when it comes to the ladies, and he got a bit upset and made this stupid bet that he could date four girls all at the same time over an eight week period.

And what happened next?
He ended up dating four girls, but he didn’t make things easy for himself. He dated a stalker, his crazy ex-girlfriend, a girl from his office who likes bad boys, and the one who got away. Put it this way – I don’t think Dan will want to date multiple girls again anytime soon after this experience!

Sounds intriguing! Let’s move on – why don’t you tell me a bit about you? Who is Ollie Pemberton?
I am. That’s my name. I thought you knew that?

I know that, I’m asking you to tell me about you.
Oh right! Well, I’m a postman and my best friend is Jack. Most people get annoyed with Jack, but I’ve known him since primary school so I know how to handle him. I like going to the pub with my mates, and my favourite TV programme at the moment is Question Time.

Really? You are interested in politics then?
Oh no, not at all. I don’t have a clue what they’re talking about most of the time. Jack told me that there is quite a lot of nudity in Question Time, so I’ve started watching it, but after five episodes I have not seen any nudity yet. Do you know when the nudity starts Just Shell?

Sorry Ollie, I don’t. But good luck with that! Thanks for joining me and good luck in your future adventures!

The book

One bet, four girls, eight weeks, multiple dates. What could possibly go wrong?

Following his traumatic eight month dry spell, Dan Hilles is back in the driving seat and ready to put his dating disasters behind him.

But if only it were that simple.

After a drunken afternoon in the pub, fuelled by the confidence of alcohol, Dan makes a bet with his three best pals that will complicate his love-life more than ever when he brazenly declares that he could juggle multiple women all at the same time.

With just eight weeks to prove his point, Dan is about to find out how hard it is to date a flood of women without them all finding out about each other, especially when they come in the shape of an ex-girlfriend, a stalker, the office ice queen and the one that got away.

The Flood is the hilarious follow-up to The Drought by lad lit author Steven Scaffardi, chronicling the adventures of unlucky-in-love Dan Hilles.

My Thoughts

Having recently read The Drought and crying with laughter all the way through it I couldn't wait to get stuck into The Flood. Steven Scaffardi has got one wicked sense of humour. This is a must read for for all you fans of Laugh out Loud books. Lad lit isn't just for lads both male and female readers will love it,especially if you have a sense of humour like mine!!! LOL

So in The Flood we are meet up with Dan after eight months of dating disasters he is ready to put this behind him. And ends up making a bet with his three best pals were The Flood begins. Women are like buses with Dan he waits ages for one then they all arrive at the same time. Then with one disaster after another I was laughing very page I turned. Like I have mentioned before with The Drought this book is fun with a capital F.

Being a lass that is one of the lads in real life. I have to say I would love to a night out with the characters in this story, There is nothing not to like about them and I am sure a night out with them would be very entertaining and can totally relate to. I love them!

This book will having you laughing until your belly hurts it is just to funny so if you are looking for a funny laugh out loud entertaining read. I Highly recommend this giving it 5 stars. And can't wait until the next instalment is out.
